Sydney to host Tennis Masters Cup 2001 Year-end finale in Australia.
In the centenary year that Australia
celebrates its nation's Federation, Australia will also start and finish the official ATP tennis season in 2001 - the first time since 1990. This year, the first ball was hit on Monday, January 1 in Adelaide at the AAPT Championships and the last point will be played on Sunday November 18 at the Tennis Masters Cup in Sydney.

The last time Australia hosted the
year-end Masters event was in 1974 in
Melbourne when Guillermo Vilas defeated
Ilie Nastase.
